Restrictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance
Tektronix Design for Environment – European Union RoHS 2
Tektronix is dedicated to meeting its environmental regulatory obligations through a corporate-wide initiative working in partnership with industry consortia. We strive to reduce the environmental footprint of our products and processes while ensuring our high standards of product quality, reliability and safety remain steadfast. Tektronix recognizes the importance of the European Union (EU’s) Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS 2). Tektronix products are generally classified as Category 9 Industrial Monitoring and Control Instruments as defined in Annex I and Article 3(24) of the RoHS Recast Directive 2011/65/EU.
Tektronix has worked with our global supply chain partners to transition to RoHS 2 compliant components and assemblies for the majority of our legacy products. New products are engineered to comply with this directive. A small number of legacy products will not be transitioned to RoHS 2*. Our manufacturing processes, and those of our partner contract manufacturers, have been transitioned to lead-free soldering using components that can handle the higher processing temperature requirements. With these changes, we have verified that product performance specifications and long-term reliability expectations remain unchanged.
